Software Used throughout the course

The software that I am going to be writing about in this section is Microsoft Teams. We used this software throughout the group project which we had to complete. We used Microsoft Teams for communication purposes and also to submit what each of us was going to do. I find that it is a great tool for schools and for companies to use during meetings or for teamwork as it has everything available to you. It also has a website mode so that you can use it in your browser rather than having to download the application. It was the application that many companies and schools started using throughout the rise of Covid in the world and thus Microsoft made alot of updates and made it what it is today. There are many features of Teams that are still yet undiscovered to me and remain a mystery as I have no need for them but they have thought of everything. From simple text conversations to video conferences and even being able to make groups and be able to structure them correctly for companies...

Assembling Your Computer!

Hello and welcome to the final entry of building your own pc. So you have reached the final stretch, but it is the hardest one to the finish line. You have all your components bought, sitting in their boxes as you read this eager to put your computer together. Well you have come to the right place. I will give you a brief overview about how you should go about putting your computer together, and I will also be linking videos along the way which I found helpful in this process. So lets Begin! First off, CPU and motherboard is what you need. You should have everything unboxed and ready to go. I recommend putting your motherboard onto of it's box to protect the backside from being scratched or damaged. Also make sure you ground yourself from any static charge you may have built up, you can do this in many ways but the easiest by far is just touching a radiator in your house. Now, you have your motherboard and CPU ready to go. There is a small lever at the side of the CPU socket, you ...

Components You NEED To Know Final Part (Accessories)

Image
Hi everyone and welcome to the last post about the components of a computer. I know it has been long and tedious to fill your heads with all of this knowledge but if you want to build a good computer you need to know these things. So lets get right into it! Starting of today we have the CPU cooler, pretty self explanatory if I do say so myself. It cools the CPU. Now, there are many types of CPU coolers out there (this is an ongoing theme in computer building, but hey, variety) such as AIOs which are closed loop water coolers for the CPU. These are useful and are a great cooling option if you know how to set one up, although I wouldn't recommend it for your first time. A regular cooler similar to the one in the image should suffice as they are great coolers and have very good heat distribution. Noctua is a company I recommend getting your cooler and fans from as they are very high quality and reliable(although they do lack RGB so if you want that and the quality Corsair is your bes...

Components You NEED To Know Part 2 (Secondary Components)

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the my third post about building your own computer. Now don't let the title fool you, I labelled it as secondary components because I believe that these are the components you should get after the ones from my previous post. All parts of a computer are important in one way or another and they are all required for your computer to function. So lets get started! The first component I will be talking about today is the PSU otherwise known as the Power Supply Unit. This is what powers your computer and converts your houses AC(Alternating Current) power to DC(Direct Current). As you can see on the image on the right, there is a number on the power supply unit, the letters are just the model and they probably mean something to distinguish between other ones but nothing necessarily as important as the number. The number on the side of the PSU is it's rating. So that means this PSU is rated for 1200Watts, which frankly is more than you'll ever need un...

Components You NEED To Know Part 1(Major Components)

Image
Hello everyone, welcome to the second entry about building a computer. In this entry we will cover the components that you will need for your computer. I will be going in order of importance while taking the cost into consideration. So, first off, you will be needing a brain, rather the brain of the computer otherwise known as the CPU or Central Processing Unit. This is where everything in your computer is handle, anything and everything you do on your computer, from launching your computer to typing in the link to this blog, it all goes through the CPU. I wont go into detail about how CPUs work, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that can explain this topic better that I ever could, but basically its all 1s and 0s, and I mean EVERYTHING is 1s and 0s. Secondly, and this will more than likely be the most expensive component in your computer, the GPU or Graphics Processing Unit, or just simply Graphics Card. This is the component that lets you see what is going on, it gives a vid...

Introduction

Hi everyone, welcome to this blog that I am writing about computer building. The blog will be in the context of my own experiences with building a desktop pc, mine was specially made for gaming purposes but a power computer can be used to do any task. I hope that this blog will be helpful to those who want to build their own computer and are not sure about how to do it. To begin, every computer is different. This can mean many different things from aesthetic to internals. It all depends on what you need your computer to do and what you are going to be using it for. The computer that i built was especially made with gaming in mind so I knew that it had to be powerful to be able to run the games that I wanted to play and also be able to keep up with the times and the power that newer games require. It is imperative to do plenty of research before you make the mistake of going and buying a bunch of high power components to run Microsoft Excel.(If that's all you need a computer for th...
